At JBS, character is not just a poster on the wall. It is coached through daily routines, classroom expectations, sport, movement, reflection, relationships, and adult example.
The 5Rs help students develop internal motivation. We want students to do the right thing not only because an adult is watching, but because they are building ownership, confidence, connection, and pride in doing things well.
Students learn to take ownership of their choices, work, behavior, and role in the community.
Students learn to recover from mistakes, manage difficulty, and keep going when learning is challenging.
Students learn to listen, cooperate, communicate respectfully, repair conflict, and contribute to a positive school community.
Students learn to think about their actions, notice progress, understand mistakes, and make better decisions.
Students learn that improvement requires practice, discipline, patience, and sustained effort.
